“I noticed there were so many people in North Carolina making webcomics, I thought, hey, let’s see if we can get them together.” - mckenzee

The North Carolina WebComics Coffee Clatch, founded by Larry “mckenzee” Holderfield of Sinister Bedfellows, is a monthly gathering of webcomic and comic creators from central North Carolina.  It provides a real life social network for webcomic and comic creators within central NC.  The purpose of the meetings is to make contacts, exchange marketing ideas, discuss work ethics and creative processes, and most importantly just hang out.  Clatch meetings are typically held at area coffee houses and at conventions including What the Hell?! Con, Trinoc*coN, Stellarcon, and Heroes Con.

The initial scope of the NCWCCC centered around the Triangle area of NC, but has since widened to include cities from Raleigh to Winston Salem.  The first meeting was held at Padget Station in Carrboro, NC on Saturday August 13th.  It was hosted by Larry “mckenzee” Holderfield of Sinister Bedfellows and attended by Bob Roberds from Soap on a Rope, Jamie Robertson from Clan of the Cats and the entire gang from The Dada Detective (Stephanie Freeze, David Milloway and Matt Wood). Since then the roster has expanded to include writers and artists from the Triad to the Triangle as well as a few members living both out of state and abroad. Both professional and amateur comic creators are welcome.

In February of 2007 the NCWC3 joined the International Cartoonists Conspiracy, an organization that promotes comic artists to create their own local meetings.
